Dr. Buenaventura believes in a personal one on one approach with her patients. She meets with every consult personally and has an open discussion with you regarding your "wish list" and how she can help you achieve it. She gives you the time and attention you need to discuss what areas you would like to improve. She and her staff take care of you every step of the way, from the first consultation to the day of surgery and through the recovery period.

For this reason we work with your primary care doctor to ensure you are fully prepared for surgery and have excellent board certified anesthesiologists caring for you. Our surgical facility is state of the art and fully accredited.

Our in-office surgical facility is fully accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities (AAAASF) (1-888-545-5222). This ensures the highest standards of care are maintained in our facility at all times, including ACLS certification and full privileges at INOVA Alexandria Hospital where Dr. Buenaventura is the Chief of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Buenaventura received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from The University of Virginia. She obtained a Master of Science degree from The George Washington University. Her M.D. degree was awarded from The Medical College of Virginia. She then completed her general surgical training at Yale University followed by a Plastic Surgical Fellowship at The University of North Carolina.
She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Medical College of Virginia, Chief of Plastic Surgery at INOVA Alexandria Hospital and a member of the INOVA Breast Cancer Institute. She is a diplomate of The American Board of Plastic Surgery and The American Board of Medical Specialities. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
