Susan K. Buenaventura, MD, FACS

Dr. Susan Buenaventura is a board certified plastic surgeon and is the medical director of The Sendi Cosmetic Surgery Center, Inc.   She is an active member of the prestigious American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at INOVA Alexandria Hospital.   She performs surgery in her fully AAAASF accredited on site surgical suite and at INOVA Alexandria Hospital.

Dr. Buenaventura received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from The University of Virginia,  a Master of Science degree in chemical toxicology from The George Washington University.  She is a graduate of the Medical College of Virgnia School of Medicine.  She completed her general surgery residency and served as Chief Resident in Surgery at Yale University.  Her Plastic Surgery Fellowship was completed at University of North Carolina.  She has been in practice in Alexandria, VA (her hometown) since 1995.

Dr. Buenaventura has made numerous presentations and has been published in various publications including "Outpatient Reduction Mammoplasty: A Review of 365 Cases" in the Annals of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Buenaventura is a member of The American College of Surgeons, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and The Medical Society of Virginia. 

Dr. Buenaventura considers it a privilege to practice the art of Plastic Surgery and meets personally with each cosmetic consultation.   She enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them meet their aesthetic goals.  

On a personal note, she is married and has two children.  She enjoys spending her free time with her family and listening to classical music.
